Macclesfield: Do you recognise this cat?
Macclesfield: Do you recognise this cat?

An appeal has been sent to Macclesfield Nub News to help get a cat home.

Male kitty Rory has gone missing.

Can you help to reunite Rory with his devastated owner?

Animal Search UK's Missing Pet Search Team are out today, 20.03.2024, in Over Alderley, SK10 4, on the hunt for the missing cat Rory.

Rory was attacked in the early hours of Tuesday morning on the 12th March by another cat in the area.

Animal Search UK said in a statement: "Rory was chased out of his house and hasn't been seen since."

"Rory is an indoor cat and doesn't know the area or how to navigate the environment.

"We strongly believe he will be hiding scared and possibly injured from the altercation.

"Rory is a beautiful silver tabby with green eyes. He is chipped and neutered."

Rory's worried owners said: "A Bengal cat broke in through the cat flap and came and picked a fight with my cat who was lying with me on my bed.

"As you can imagine my little cat means the world to me, and I want to do the best for him."

Alisha Turner from the Media Team and Animal Search Headquarters added: "We are worried about Rory since he is an indoor cat and he could be injured from the attack.

"We expect him to be hiding somewhere out the way and too scared to make his way back home. He is a timid cat and hides around people he doesn't know.

"We are urging people to take photos of Rory and not to approach so the owner can go and collect him."

"Anyone who thinks they might have seen Rory or have any information, please call the Animal Search UK team on 0800 4 320 340 or visit our website at www.animalsearchuk.co.uk quoting reference number ALP318323.

"Today, you can also follow the search team journey across our social media platforms!

"Animal Search UK's missing pet search team are the only one of their kind, with over 22 years of extensive experience successfully reuniting pets across the UK.

"Pet owners are urged to PROTECT their beloved pets at www.animalsearchuk.co.uk, ensuring they are prepared for the worst. You can also become part of their Pet Watch Campaign to help keep the pets of your neighbourhood safe.

*We urge anyone in Over Alderley and surrounding areas to be vigilant and check their sheds and outbuildings. Transport workers, also please check your vehicles for Rory."
