Macclesfield: the BBC will broadcast a Bollington eatery on national television tonight.
The Christmas Special of The Hairy Bikers Go North For Christmas will see Dave Myers and Si King take a trip to the Happy Valley.
It will comprise part of the programme broadcast on BBC Two on Wednesday 22nd December at 8pm.
The Hairy Bikers will visit The Indian Goat, Bollington's only food truck.
The Indian street food stall with a British twist can be found on the Bollington Recreation Ground.
Chef-Owner Sunitha Southern founded and runs the venture, and met with the celebrity chefs in the summer.
"I'm so excited to see what is going to be shown," she said.
"I haven't got a chance to see the clips due to COVID. But the experience I had with them was just incredible."
"I cooked them a feast that my mother used to cook whenever we used to have guests, or there was a festival. It is my comfort food and always on our table especially during Christmas time.
"In India we have goat kosha mangsho, but in the UK we don't have goat we have slow-cooked diced lamb, cooked with potatoes and loads of spices. It is served with steamed rice and a special dhal with five seasonal vegetables like pumpkins and aubergines.
"We also made an Indian salad for them and a jackfruit curry for them as an alternative to meat. It is a very simple dish but part of our celebratory meal."
Unfortunately, you can't currently order what The Hairy Bikers had, but it makes the celebratory meal all the more special.
Their current festive menu can be found here.
Every dish is cooked to order, and reasonably priced.
The Indian Goat was founded in 2018, but became more of a permanent fixture during the pandemic. They've been at the Bollington Recreation Ground for a year.
The mobile Indian eatery occasionally stops off to serve food at venues in Macclesfield.
The Indian Goat can be followed on Instagram or Facebook. Their opening times are below:
Thursday 10am–4pm
Friday 10am–4pmSaturday 10am–4pm
