A Buxton Road bakery has made themselves a birthday cake, as they celebrate their first year in business.

Cakeface By James which opened mid pandemic is celebrating their one year anniversary on June 1.

The shop owned and run by young Macclesfield entrepreneur James Hallworth (22) has gone from strength to strength since opening.

The coffee and cake shop has become part of the community with regulars shopping in store and on line every week for James' fantastic cake creations.

"It is amazing to have passed the year mark", he said.

"This time last year I didn't think we'd have a shop! It feels incredible to have been a full year.

The Macclesfield sweet treat hub, which employs five, is open Wednesday to Sunday.

He personally ensures that all his products are fresh and made to his high standards of presentation.

His tray bakes, brownies and cakes are in such demand that regular orders regularly come in every week.

As well as a strong local customer base, he has also attracted sweet-lovers as far as London.

Cakeface is now supplying several restaurants and cafes in the area, which means he has had to take on an additional baker and staff to help with the demand.

"Hopefully in the future I would like to open a few more shops," he added.

"Possibly in Macclesfield and a few towns nearby.

"My favourite thing about being a businessman in Macclesfield is that everyone is so lovely.

"Everyone likes to support local, they are really friendly when they are come in, and all the local businesses love to support each other."

Not only is the shop very busy with beautiful cakes and his very own brand coffee but the Cakeface on line orders are also busy with his delivery team delivering all around Macclesfield and surrounding area.

James releases the flavours of his tray bake range at the start of the week and you can order them on line for delivery on a Friday.

Following the success of his in-store cakes especially the now famous Black Forests Gateaux customers can now order full cakes for events and celebrations , contact James through his socials at Cakeface By James
