Not-for-profit care village operator and dementia specialist Belong, which has a location in Macclesfield has been chosen to feature in the official publication of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations alongside other organisations selected for their exceptional contributions to UK society and culture in the past 70 years.

Belong, which have a village site on Kennedy Avenue in Upton Priory, will feature in Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album. The publication will be released next week, ahead of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

The title charts the monarch's extraordinary 70-year reign through over 250 photographs of the Queen throughout her life. It explores a lifetime of leadership, from her steadfast presence during the Second World War through to her unifying influence during our present turbulent times, as well as developments in the UK and around the world over the past seven decades.

As a chronicle of years of service, the book also profiles a select number of outstanding individuals and organisations from across the country and the Commonwealth that have had an impact on life in the UK.

Belong Macclesfield offers 18 self-contained apartments for independent living and six supported 'households' with modern en-suite bedrooms and an open plan lounge.

Commenting on the care village operator's involvement in the project, Belong Chief Executive Martin Rix said: "We are honoured to have been asked to feature in the publication and to be a supporter of the official album of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

"It is a testament to the organisation's positive impact on people's lives and communities over the past decade and a half.

"I'm very much looking forward to seeing the finished result."

Since it launched 15 years ago, Belong has been at the forefront of driving standards of care in the UK, particularly for people living with dementia.

Queen Elizabeth II will mark 70 years on the throne in June.

They are known for providing a range of support and living options and incorporating modern, open-plan layouts and dementia-friendly design, as well as amenities.

It has also led the way in promoting equality and diversity in care settings, including pioneering LGBT events for older people. Belong's eighth village will open in Chester this summer and incorporate a fully integrated nursery, making it the region's first truly intergenerational care setting.

Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album will be officially launched on 5 June 2022 on The Mall in central London as part of the four-day bank holiday weekend of jubilee celebrations. A second launch event will take place later that day at Claridge's hotel in Mayfair.

The book will be available to purchase online and in shops from 12 May 2022. Copies can be ordered in advance at this webpage.

Belong villages are known for their top quality care, and the village like feel of their seven sites. They contain a bistro, hair salon, exercise studio and function rooms, all of which are open to the public as well as to the Belong community. This has a knock-on effect of enhancing the local community.

Alongside Macclesfield, Belong operate in Atherton, Crewe, Didsbury, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Wigan and Warrington.
