A Macclesfield charity is shutting down.

Speaking Up Speaking Out has announced it will close for good next month after 20 years of supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.

It comes as a result of the cost-of-living crisis, with the Heritage Centre-based charity unable to find enough money to keep going.

A spokesperson said: "Despite all our efforts, it is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce the closure of SUSO.

"We understand that this will be upsetting, please know that all SUSO staff are here to support you going forward.

"Thank you for your support and hardworking efforts over the past few months, we appreciate you all."

The final members day will be Thursday, March 27.

A party to celebrate all the charity has done will be held the day before.

Until then, SUSO will be supporting users plan for the closure and providing information about alternative services available.

They will also be looking to continue the monthly socials and will be exploring other ways to keep in touch.
