A Macclesfield chef will appear on national TV this week.

Jamie Savage (36), who runs Savages Mussels in The Picturedrome, is a contestant on the new BBC One show Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars.

The ex-Navy chef founded his seafood business in 2018, and was one of the first vendors to open in The Picturedrome in 2019.

Before this, he was also a regular at Macclesfield's Treacle Market, and had a two-year residency at Altrincham Market (who also run The Picturedrome).

This includes a 'Macc and Cheese' with mussels and pancetta, along with popcorn mussels.

You may have also tried his mussel burger.

Jamie filmed the programme from June to July 2021, and will appear in the first episode on Thursday March 31st at 9pm.

"Especially on the back of the devastating two years with the pandemic, Future Food Stars will give someone the chance to focus and develop some exciting business ideas that have the potential to absolutely explode over the next 18 months."
