A Macclesfield cinema is to show live football for the first time.

Cinemac, on Roe Street will be showing England's Euro 2024 knockout match on Sunday.

The match, against a currently undetermined opponent, will be shown live at Cinemac with doors from 4:30pm.

Jordan Wilson is the Director of Cinemac.

"We are really excited to be showing the football this Sunday," said Jordan.

Gareth Southgate's England take on an as-of-yet-determined third placed team in their first knockout match at the Euros on Sunday.

"It is the first time we have ever shown live sports in the cinema.

"We are really excited to branch out into it.

"It is free entry. Hopefully we will get a good reception in our first venture into sports.

"Anyone can come, kids, adults you name it. Hopefully people can have a nice time and come on England.

"We will have a special offer on beer for £5 pints.

"And as we are a cinema, of course, we will be selling popcorn.

"We will have live music afterwards with Ally [Dickaty} from [Macclesfield band] The Virginmarys. This is part of the 1261 Festival afterparties and will require an official afterparties wristband to enjoy.""

Cinemac is located upstairs at The Heritage Centre, Roe Street.

The nearest car parks is at Roe Street and Churchill Way.
