Macclesfield Cricket Club apply to improve facilities
As the weather gets better, cricket season begins, but it is not the only reason to celebrate at Macclesfield Cricket Club.
This is as Macclesfield Cricket Club have submitted a planning application to Cheshire East Council to improve their facilities.
It is to provide "new cladding, new windows, doors, skylights, and enhanced disabled access."
The existing clubhouse uses brick, render and a timber decking terrace. But the newly-proposed materials and finishes aim to be brick and composite, hardwood weatherboarding. With these new materials helping to secure the building's future.
A new stairs and ramp with railing will also improve accessibility for wheelchair users.
A Macclesfield architect has been consulted for the project, for which you can read more about HERE.
The club was founded in Victorian times, with their strongest side being fielded in the Cheshire County Cricket 1st Division League for 2023.
