Over the past few months Macclesfield Nub News has published articles about the local causes the Co-op is raising money for across our town.

These include raising funds for new toys at a toddler group, a plant garden at a Macclesfield pre-school, and a local rewilding group.

In total, there are twelve Macclesfield causes the Co-op raises money for every year.

Applications for the next twelve causes that the Co-op will support are open.

Charities, schools and other local causes are invited to apply. Macclesfield Co-op Member Pioneer Louise Little explained how:

"We're looking forward to see local causes from Macclesfield apply for the Local Community Fund for 2023-24," she said.

"The next round of Local Community Fund applications opens on Wednesday 10 May.

"You can find out more and access the form to apply on this link.

"You have until June 11 to apply.

"The Co-op are looking to support projects that:

  • Bring people together to access food
  • Help improve people's mental wellbeing
  • Create opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference
  • Enable people to save and restore nature or tackle climate change

The last round of Co-op's Local Community Fund supported 4,500 community projects across the country, with causes highlighting that the funding and support is providing a critical life-line for communities during these challenging times. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"We look forward to your application, and the possibility of working with you."

Each November, causes are presented with a cheque with funds raised for them over 12 months.
