A cyclist who lives in Macclesfield is in action in Paris today.

Macclesfield resident Ethan Vernon could win a medal at the Olympics today.

Ethan is taking part in the team pursuit track cycling final this afternoon.

Ethan and his teammates will race against Australia at 5:33pm, to see who will win the gold medal.

With a silver medal at least in the bag, can the local road and track cyclist go for gold this evening?

The 23-year-old got into cycling through BMX as a child.

He already took part in a team gold at the European championships in January. Can he help secure an Olympic gold as well?

Ethan is originally from Bedford, but has lived in Macclesfield in the years of both this Olympics (and the last one in Tokyo).

Ethan and his teammates finished seventh in the team pursuit three years ago, so he has already outperformed the last Olympiad.

Macclesfield institutions who follow Ethan on Instagram include Onyx Yoga Studio, Kickback Coffee and Flour Water Salt.
