A Macclesfield designer's handcrafted accessories dazzled in a recent episode of Strictly Come Dancing.

Heidi Reid, founder of Glorious by Heidi, was over the moon to see two of her handcrafted hair accessories worn during the show's iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom episode last weekend.

The ATHENA gold flower hair pins were worn by TV star Alex Kingston, and the AMINA crystal and pearl hair pin by star of stage and winner of Love Island 2017, Amber Davies.

Heidi said: "This was definitely a career high!

"The elegance and glitz of Strictly is a setting where I had always dreamt of seeing my accessories."

Heidi started her business 12 years ago at her kitchen table as a creative outlet while parenting her daughter who was born with Down's syndrome.

The business has since grown into an award winning wedding and special occasion accessories brand, stocked by UK bridal boutiques as well as having a flagship space in Macclesfield.

The Strictly opportunity came after Heidi contacted one of the show's hairstylists Anna Winterburn, inspired by the inclusion of dancer Ellie Goldstein who also has Down's syndrome.

The conversation resulted in Heidi's work being seen by millions under the lights at Blackpool.
