Macclesfield FC have launched an app to add to its portfolio of media.

It compiles up-to-the minute information found via the club's official site plus pages on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

The club's Facebook page announced the launch on February 17, and fans from sites which follow the Silkmen have already endorsed it.

From The Star Lane End on Facebook, fan Harry said: "I can't fault it.

The Macclesfield FC app was developed by Wilmslow business and sponsor of the club Key And Eagle Digital Media Ltd.

"It is really easy to navigate and can find everything you need with a couple of taps.

"Does exactly what I'd expect from a club app."

From an iPhone, once you've decided on notifications, the formatting and fonts are clear and the click-through process is straightforward, with player profiles and match stats included.

The links offer quick access to match-day previews, videos and recent news is available from across the club as well.

Season tickets, memberships and match-day tickets purchases can be made via the app too.

The London Road outfit should see more faces in the 'First Time Fan' section, as they push for promotion from the North West Counties Football League Premier Division.

Home support at league games is already rivalling established teams further up the pyramid.

Updates and topical information are included and should lead to increased engagement with fans and the community in the town.

A momentous press release issued on October 13 2020 is also included, serving as a reminder of the ethos of the club.

Supporters tend to check into apps on match days more than other times, according to Other Media, who have developed an app for Swansea City FC.

Football clubs at the upper echelons of the game are turning to mobile phone technology via Near Field Communications (NFC) to give fans access to the stadium for home games.

As you approach the traditional turnstiles, the ticket pops up on your phone, which you tap against a reader as you enter the ground.
