Why has Macclesfield FC's first pre-season fixture been rescheduled?
Yesterday, we reported on Macclesfield FC's packed pre-season schedule, including four matches against Cheshire clubs.
However, one of the matches has just had the date changed.
A new date has already been rescheduled.
Macclesfield FC's first game against New Mills AFC has been rearranged for the slightly earlier date of June 28, which is a Monday.
The game against the Millers was originally set to take place at Church Lane, New Mills, on Tuesday June 29.
The game has been rearranged for the day prior due to EURO 2020.
Following England's Tuesday victory of the Czech Republic, and Germany qualifying for the last 16 last night, England had their date and opponent for their first knockout game confirmed.
England's next game would have taken place on the same date as the original New Mills vs Silkmen affair.
So local players and fans can watch the international game and not miss any action, in case of extra time, our club's opening pre-season friendly was pushed forward.
The kick-off time of 7:45pm remains the same. However, the game being brought moved to this Monday means we have even less time to wait before fans can see Macclesfield FC in action for the pre-season.
