Macclesfield: Foam in the River Bollin once again

By Nub News Reporter

16th Aug 2023 | Local News

Foam has been spotted in the River Bollin once again, six months after a similar ecological disaster.

Foam has been seen since last weekend seen at viewpoints from Macclesfield Railway Station and up Byrons Lane.

It can also be seen from the pavement near the Hibel Road Tesco.

Unlike last time, it is not known how many species have died. However, the yellow-foam appears to be on a smaller scale than earlier this year.

The Environment Agency have been contacted for comment.

To report an environmental incident, members of the public can call the Environment Agency on 0800 807060.
