Two dogs which were abandoned on Britain's hottest ever day and escaped death, have found a new fur-ever home.
Mother-son mutts Dottie and Frankie were abandoned in the Macclesfield Forest area when temperatures neared 40 degrees Celsius last July.
The RSPCA employee who took care of them in the hours following their abandonment said "lucky these dogs were found or they faced a lingering death."
By December, an appeal was launched by RSPCA Macclesfield to get the cuddly pair a new home,
Now, RSPCA Macclesfield are delighted to report to Macclesfield Nub News that the appeal has worked and the Chinese Crested Cross dogs have found a new permanent owner.
RSPCA Macclesfield told Macclesfield Nub News that they have been rehomed by a woman in Scotland, who has kept the dogs together.
Their new owner, who has been kept anonymous said: "Dottie & Frankie have made themselves at home and settled well into the routine I taught them."
"They are in good health and eating well. Now that the weather is improving a little they go out back and search for a sliver of sunlight to squeeze into.
"Frankie has claimed a sofa where he keeps his collection of toys and pet woodlice..
"Dottie likes to be in her bed where she can indulge her favourite hobby of talking (barking) to us.
"Thank you for entrusting me with these two... life is somewhat chaotic but I adore them."
