A Macclesfield wedding venue will welcome a charity do this March.

Bollington's Town Mayor, Cllr John Stewart, is hosting a fundraising event at Hilltop Country House.

Money raised will go towards cricket nets for Bollington Cricket Club.

The current nets have been dangerous and have caused injury, and would-be Bollington cricketers have gone to other clubs.

The nets cost thousands of pounds, and while there is no target in mind, tickets for the event cost £35 per person. (Image - Bollington Cricket Club)

But if they were to afford new nets, they can attract more members and secure the future of the club.

The event will take place on the evening of Friday March 3, with everyone welcome.

To help kickstart the cricket club's coffers, Bollington's Town Mayor is donating a table dedicated to volunteers in the community, who work selflessly for others.

He is inviting nominations from members of the public to contact him with their nominees.
