A Macclesfield Hospital volunteer met the King and Queen.

On Thursday, December 4, King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a showcase celebrating the power of volunteering at Windsor Castle.

Part of a state visit by Germany, the event featured volunteers from more than a dozen charities.

Among those in attendance was Macclesfield-based Centrica employee, Anne-Marie Eyres.

Anne-Marie spoke to Their Majesties, the Federal President of Germany, and the First Lady of Germany, about her experience volunteering for the Royal Voluntary Service's Macclesfield Hospital trolley service.

Catherine Johnstone CBE, chief executive of the RVS, said: "It was an honour to host the employee volunteering stand at the event alongside volunteers from Centrica, Lloyds Bank and Morrisons to put employee volunteering in the spotlight.

"We were able to share the positive impact volunteering can have on individuals, communities and businesses and to showcase GoVo the new digital volunteering platform we've developed and talk about how it can support business to unlock employee volunteering."
