A resort in Macclesfield have began a successful fundraising campaign for key workers.

Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa announced in April that they will be partnering with East Cheshire NHS Charity over the next year.

And today, they have passed the £1000 milestone in money raised for the local NHS Charity.

The Shrigley Hall team have been busy taking part in various fundraising activities since April, including a Longest Day Golf Day event in June, which was a huge success.

In July the team saw the return of the Shrigley Team Bake-Off. Many members got involved in the annual event, with Stuart (Leisure Manager) and Alex (Housekeeper) crowned Shrigley Master Bakers for 2023 with their winning white chocolate cookie dough blondie.

Joe Fleetwood, General Manager said, "It was a pleasure to host both events. Some real creativity baking not only the cakes, but also out on the golf course! Lots of fun, so many of the team got involved. So very worthwhile for team building, but most importantly, to generate much needed funded funds for East Cheshire NHS charity. A big thank you to everybody who took part. Roll on the next event!"

The team have a packed diary with exciting events planned in for the rest of the year, including a staff hike climbing Snowdon in September.

Lily Preston, Fundraising and Events Manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity said, "It's great to see the team off to a flying start with the Longest Golf Day event and Shrigley Team Bake-Off. We're so grateful for the team's continued support and we're excited to see what events they have planned for the rest of the year".

A further statement by the good cause read: "The charity fundraising goes above and beyond standard government funding and firmly believe that by working together, we can make our local NHS that extra special.

"If your business, team, or workplace would like to get involved in fundraising for your local NHS Charity, get in touch with the fundraising team on [email protected]."
