A dad from Bollington with stage 4 brain cancer is biking his way through December.

Former catering manager Liam Bergin (51) is cycling to raise money for Brain Tumour Research, despite being diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer over two years ago.

"I have a brain tumour and we can't cure, but I'm fundraising for Brain Tumour Research because I'd like others to have hope and a cure," he said.

Liam has raised four children, and has raised almost £30,000 for charity since his diagnosis. One of his sons even biked up a French mountain this year, inspired by his dad's fundraising efforts.

Earlier in the year he helped found a cancer support group in Macclesfield's South Park, and is a beacon of positivity for thousands on the social media platform Twitter for proving what those with a brain tumour can do.

Liam is aiming to raise £9000 for Buckingham-based cause Brain Tumour Research by December 31.
