By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 21st Feb 2026
A Macclesfield man has been jailed for threatening a woman with a knife.
Sebastian Bebenek, of Wilmslow Walk, was recently sentenced to 15 months behind bars.
It comes after the 41-year-old threatened a woman, which court records suggest to be a relative, with a kitchen knife last summer.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The female victim called police on August 21, 2025, to report that Bebenek had threatened her with a kitchen knife and when she attempted to get away from him he had kicked her in the leg.
"Officers attended and Bebenek was arrested."
Following his arrest, Bebenek was charged with a string of offences including a threat to kill, threat with a bladed article, assault by beating and assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Friday, February 13, by Judge Steven Everett.
Alongside the 15-month prison sentence, Bebenek has been handed an indefinite restraining order banning him from having any contact with two specified individuals.
