Macclesfield man meets his hero after running 10 marathons in seven days

A Macclesfield man met his hero after running 10 marathons in seven days.
Photographer Alex Wright ran 230 miles from his home in Macclesfield to London before completing the TCS London Marathon on Sunday (April 27).
The father of two, who owns TenEight Studios, took on the ultra challenge to raise awareness and funds for homeless charity, Coffee4Craig.
On Tuesday (April 29), Alex met Onjali Q. Rauf – bestselling author of Night Bus Hero, a book that sparked his family's commitment to tackling homelessness.
"Meeting Onjali was incredibly emotional," said Alex.
"Her book is the reason I chose to support Coffee4Craig.
"It reminded me—and my children—that we all have a part to play in making things better for those on the margins."
Alex, 46, set off from his home in Macclesfield on Monday (April 21).
Throughout his journey, Alex pulled a buggy filled with essentials, camped each night, and ran more than a marathon a day.
At the time of writing he has raised nearly £12,000 for Coffee4Craig, including £2,000 from Onjali.
The charity's co-founders, Risha and Hendrix Lancaster, met Alex as he crossed the finish line in London, calling him 'an inspiration' and 'absolutely mad, but in the best possible way'.

Coffee4Craig was set up following the death of Risha's brother, who died whilst struggling with homelessness and mental health problems.
Today, the charity provides an evening service seven days-a-week, offering hot food, drinks, support and a chance to have a chat – a respite for men and women many of whom have problems associated with mental health and drug and alcohol abuse.
"In Manchester, I spoke with people experiencing homelessness, and the name Coffee4Craig kept coming up," Alex said.
"This incredible charity provides hot meals and vital support to those in desperate need.
"While I can't volunteer as often as I'd like, I wanted to contribute in another way.
"When Coffee4Craig received a place in the 2025 London Marathon, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their relentless work."
