Macclesfield residents are to get on their bikes for Palestine.

Anna and Greg Hughes are traveling England on a bike to raise money with Amos Trust Road Club. The good cause has the slogan 'justice for the hope and forgotten'.

They want to raise £1000 in aid of Palestine.

"We are riding the C2C route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth on our tandem with Amos Trust Road Club to raise money to rebuild homes in the West Bank that have been destroyed by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF)," said Anna.

The Cumbria to Tyneside cycle hopes to raise £1000.

"Amos Trust is a small, creative human rights organisation which works in three main areas; Palestine Justice, Climate Justice and Street Justice.

"For the last 12 years, Amos Trust has been working alongside local partners, Holy Land Trust and Hebron International Resources Network (HIRN) to rebuild Palestinian homes that have been destroyed by the Israeli Defence Force. These homes have all been on the West Bank."

The pair who are members of Macc4Pal, has already raised £725 before a single pedal, with 24 people pledging already.

The coast-to-coast on a tandem bike spans 137 hilly miles in just three days. To give some context, that is almost the same amount as cycling from Macclesfield to Gloucester.
