Macclesfield's MP has shared his thoughts on the Chancellor's Budget announcement.

Rachel Reeves today (November 26) delivered her long-awaited Budget, outlining the Labour government's plans for the economy.

Key points include an extended freeze on tax thresholds, a new 'mansion tax' on properties worth more than £2 million, a rise in the national living wage and the removal of the two-child benefit cap.

Tim Roca says he is 'delighted' with the plans put forward, which he feels will benefit thousands of people in his constituency.

He said: "Too many hard-working people are struggling to make ends meet across Macclesfield.

"That's why I'm delighted to welcome the Chancellor's announcement today that she is increasing both the national living and the national minimum wages.

"I know that bringing down the cost of living is still our government's top priority.

"Today's announcement will mean that thousands of people across Macclesfield will see an increase in their pay packets next year.

"The increase in the national living wage will be particularly important for young people who are just starting out in their careers, who are building their future and saving for their future homes."

He is just as thick and delusional as she is! Raising the minimum wage by 50p will only drag more hard working people and families into hardship as the cost of living and bills will only rise so business can cushion the extra costs this will have on them onto the consumer, it will also drag more and more people into higher tax brackets through fiscal drag, reducing the take home pay of hard working people, while the chancellor allows benefit payments to rise inline with inflation and pay no tax at all! I wonder if he’d say the same thing if his role was paid at minimum wage and he had a family to feed! Is he also proud that his party have broken their primary promise that got them elected into power. Manifestos need to be made a legally binding commitment and if broken due to lies and deceit, it triggers a general election. Is he happy that hard working families are having to now pay for children that those on the dole can’t afford to have, people who work have to make a choice based on cost and time to have a family, lifting this cap will only stop those claiming from getting work due to having more and more kids as they get paid for them, hard working people with morals won’t. These people will now be having babies for cash as happened previously before the cap was introduced! He needs to be demeaning Money from the most useless chancellor in British history and Wes Streeting for money to build a new hospital in his constituency as it cannot cope with the ever increasing population and demand, the new community diagnostic centre will not have all the facilities we were promised due to financing shortfalls, so no CT scanner for early detection of severe illnesses as promised, is he proud of this. Where are the new GP surgeries to help with the rapidly growing population in Cheshire East, where are the new mental health facilities that is greatly needed in this area? Where are the urgent care and walk in centres that are needed ? Where are the dentists? Where are the schools ? Did Tim push back on the introduction of paying more tax on properties worth £1m to £2m as most MP’s live in homes worth at least £1m? Why doesn’t nub news ask questions over things like this, why not hold our local MP to account?
