A new cakery and cafe has opened in the heart of Macclesfield.

Dolly Daydream Cakery - which Macclesfield Nub News only announced was coming to our town last month - has opened in a prime location on Queen Victoria Street.

With a gorgeous shop frontage and equally striking interior, the new eatery will especially stand out to visitors arriving by bus just across the road.

The sweet treat hub was started by Hollie Williamson from the Moss Estate.

"I'm really excited to finally be open," said Hollie.

"I'm very lucky to have my staff from our previous space in Courtyard Kitchen join me here too.

"I can't wait for Macclesfield to come and try our delicious bakes.

"We have sandwiches as well. Brunch and afternoon tea are also available.

"It is great to start doing afternoon tea again as that is how this business started doing takeaway afternoon tea delivery during lockdown.

"And we have an alcohol licence for Prosecco and Champagne as well, to help make that occasion extra special for your loved one."

"Other savoury menu items include oatcakes with a wide range of fillings, because nowhere else in Macclesfield does them, along with filled croissants as well.

"Our sweet treats are £4 each, four for £11 and six for £21."

The premises was officially opened by Macclesfield South Town Councillor and Mayor of Macclesfield Fiona Wilson.

She had a lemon meringue cupcake and a coffee, as the first customer of Hollie's expanded business.

"It was a dream come true for me today to attend the opening of Dolly Daydream Cakery," said Cllr Wilson.

"Massive congratulations to Hollie and her team on the launch of their fantastic new shop at 5 Queen Victoria Street.

"I can confirm that their coffee and cake are very tasty and highly recommended."

They are open 9-5 Monday to Saturday, and 10-4 on Sunday.

As well as their new site, you can also order their cakes on Macclesfield Eats.

You can also support Hollie by giving her a like on Facebook.

The jaw-dropping floral exterior is also complimentary to the quality (and presentation) of the food. Hollie and her Macclesfield based builders meticulously restored an original doorbell hiding behind the shopfront, which in recent years housed a pet shop.
