There's one less empty shop on Mill Street.

And the people behind the new addition to our high street want to save you money on your bills.

Partners Adele Knight and Jonathan Smythe are the names to know behind the new office at 110 Mill Street.

They work on behalf of Utility Warehouse, who can roll your household bills from heating, electricity, internet and more from the same place, in one handy package.

"We're probably the only shop in Macclesfield where you can go in and save money, said Jonathan.

"We do bills for gas, electric, mobile, landline, broadband, home insurance, boiler cover, and income protection. So we are true multi-service company.

"The difference with us is the more services you take, they give you a discount. We are already the UKs cheapest energy, 2.5% below the price cap, and if you bundle with other services you can get even more off.

"We think things are simpler when it is all on one bill, and it can save you money too.

"Until recently, Utility Warehouse had been one of the UKs best kept secrets.

"They don't spend a lot of money on advertising, which is where people like myself and Adele come in to spread the word.

"We're customers who save money with Utility Warehouse, we also make a living signing up other customers.

"Instead of hiring a sales team, they encourage customers like us to work for themselves and get others to sign up. [Similar to the Avon business model.]

"The advantage we have over other energy companies is the fact we do other services.

"You don't have to come in and spend anything. You don't have to commit to anything. You can even enter our £20,000 prize draw without signing up with us.

"We're not asking people to buy anything, this is stuff people have to use day-in, day-out.

"Across the UK, people are getting screwed on particularly energy bills right now. And we can offer people offer solutions to that.

"And for us, we earn money by helping people save money. In our eyes, It's a win win for everyone."

If you choose to switch suppliers to Utility Warehouse, Adele and Jonathan can cancel your current providers for you, even with a contract.

Jonathan has been doing this in Macclesfield since June 2016, and Adele in 2019.

However, it is only now that they have a physical premises on the high street. Jonathan explained why:

"I have my own design agency I run in Macclesfield. I suffered a massive stroke in 2005 aged 39, and realised that work was going to kill me", he explained.

"So from then on I was always looking down to cut down on the dayjob, and take on some stress-free income streams, and I wish I had found this sooner.

"And before everyone else was working from home in COVID, I was working for Utility Warehouse from home, and it was a great way for me to earn as I could work whenever I wanted to.

"I own this building, which was most recently a takeaway before we opened the new Utility Warehouse office.

"And when it shut, instead of opening it again as food retail in the middle of a cost of living crisis, I thought I could use it as an office as people can come and meet us to find out what we do as a service, putting a face behind us. So it is relatively low risk for us.

"I didn't want this to become another empty window or something we already had on the high street."

In addition to their bills services, they also provide a cashback card which you can use on the high street, as an added bonus to the savings you'll make on your utility bills. Ask in-store for details about this.

"We are here to help people and help people save money," told Adele.

"We can run you a free quote in minutes either in-store or over the phone."

When asked about the energy industry at large, amid the rising costs. Jonathan had this to say:

"Working for UW, we are in the eye of the storm all the time you can see what is going on around us."

"I am a caring person so it is sad for me to say but people are desperate," added Adele.

"If you are worrying, don't just sit there, come and get a free quote and for your time we will enter you in to a £20,000 prize draw."

"We are in a position where we can genuinely help people who are struggling to save money.

"Customers can also earn money through referring others to use Utility Warehouse, or by working as a Utility Warehouse partner themselves.
