The North Cheshire Business Awards took place at the weekend, with Macclesfield organisations doing very well.

Overall, Macclesfield had 23 of a possible 44 nominations, and last Friday revealed how many had won.

Here's how those from Macclesfield and the surrounding area did:

Clare Kewney, Director and Senior Audiologist of Bollington Hearing Centre, was delighted with the gong.

"I was delighted and genuinely taken aback to have been presented with the Business Person of the Year Award," she said.

"It was an incredible feeling to be selected as a deserving winner. I felt so proud of myself but more importantly the wonderful team I have around me.

"We absolutely love what we do and shall continue to build the business and support the community around us."

Macclesfield's East Cheshire Hospice was the biggest local winner, taking home a trio of trophies. While not a business, charities could also be nominated as well.

In a statement, East Cheshire Hospice said: "We're thrilled to share the news that East Cheshire Hospice has emerged victorious thrice at the North Cheshire Business Awards."

"We're absolutely delighted to have won Charity of the Year, the Customer Service Award, and Apprentice of the Year for our own Hannah Bentham."
