Macclesfield osteopath relocating across town after almost 20 years
A Macclesfield osteopathy practice is moving to a new town centre location.
Elizabeth Curphey, owner of The Therapy Rooms Macclesfield, has worked in Macclesfield as an osteopath for over 18 years.
She'll relocate to a bigger a better premises from a site on Park Street to KR Health Suites on Sunderland Street.
The pandemic played a big part in Elizabeth's decision to relocate her practice, but she sees it as an opportunity rather than a disadvantage.
She chose KR Health Suites as her new premises as it is close to her current practice, but provides a welcoming space for her patients.
"As with many, Covid changed lot's of things within my practice and now I just don't need quite such a big space anymore," Elizabeth revealed.
"Downsizing has been something I've been considering for a while and it just seemed like the right thing to do for me at the moment."
Specialising in pregnant women, babies and children, Elizabeth thrives on aiding their discomfort.
A physical form of healing, osteopathy treats injuries to bones and muscles using pressure and movement. Patients know they are in good hands, given Elizabeth's years of experience.
"Lots of new mums come to me for help with difficulties they are facing in the first few weeks."
"Most commonly, I treat unsettledness and feedings difficulties."
Osteopaths are like body detectives, they get to the root and cause of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. "Elizabeth explained.
While continuing to run her practice, Elizabeth has plans to move into mentoring the newly qualified osteopaths and to help guide them through their professional carers
"There is currently no help or mentoring program currently set up to support newly qualified osteopaths," Elizabeth said.
"This inspired me to start my own program for new graduates to aid them with whatever they might need as experience plays such a big part in spotting and then treating the issues at hand."
Due to Elizabeth's knowledge, she is able to offer a wide range of advice and guidance.
"Often graduates ask me how I set up my own business, or how to deal with difficult patients," she commented.
"It brings me joy to see them develop their skills, which will in turn help their community."
Elizabeth recently published her first book How to Survive and Thrive as a Newly Qualified Osteopath, which provides useful advice and valuable knowledge varying from tips and tricks to how important mindset and wellbeing to the job.
"I am looking forward to the future ahead," added Elizabeth.
"Whether that be moving to a new location or publishing my second book soon, I am excited for what awaits."
Her new site will be shared with other medical professionals, for which you can find more about here.
