Macclesfield: Pair arrested on Moss Lane following burglary

A weekend burglary has seen the arrest of a man and a woman in Macclesfield.

One of the two apprehended were from our town.

In a statement, Cheshire Police confirmed the details of the incident.

"At around 10:20am on Saturday 11 June, officers were called to reports of a burglary on Moss Lane, Macclesfield," a spokesperson said.

"Officers attended the scene and subsequently arrested a 48-year-old man from Sandown and a 24-year-old woman from Macclesfield. 

"The pair have since been released on conditional bail and enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing, pending further investigation. 

"Anyone who has information is asked to contact Cheshire Constabulary at this link or via 101 quoting IML 1290232." 

Macclesfield Police officers were assisted by Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team.

Sgt Rob Simpson said in a post on Facebook: "Over the weekend as you'll have seen we apprehended two burglary suspects with brilliant help from Macclesfield Police - rumoured to be the first with a trailer attached."

Macclesfield Police Station is located on Brunswick Street.
