The possibility of ten new homes on Beech Lane are in their very early stages.

An outline planning application has been submitted for the land at 81 – 83 Beech Lane, Macclesfield SK10 2DY.

It is for "demolition of existing buildings and structures on site and erection of 10 dwellings, with associated access parking, landscaping and infrastructure."

The current site comprises of 81 – 83 Beech Lane, outbuildings, shrubs, trees and grass.

The site was a last used as a residential dwelling on New Years Eve 2016. The two pre-existing buildings (which currently includes a collapsed roof) would be demolished, to make way for ten new houses.

All ten homes will have three to four bedrooms, should the plans be approved. The proposals would add nine new parking spaces to the pre-existing 11.

Plans for demolition on the site were previously refused in July 2020. The site was set on fire in August 2020.

A planning document, submitted to Cheshire East Council this week reads: "It is proposed the site could comfortably accommodate five pairs of semi-detached dwellings."

"Providing a total of 10 new family dwellinghouses, located within generous plots, which would include associated parking, access and landscaping.

"[sic] A new access would be created from Beech Lane, this access would serve all 10 dwellings safety and securely.

The public can make comments on the new plans until Valentine's Day.
