A three-storey block of flats could be built on the site of two former houses in Macclesfield.
Evans UK has applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to build nine flats on the derelict land at 151 London Road.
A design and access statement submitted with the application states: "The site is a portion of brownfield land formerly occupied by a pair of semi-detached properties.
"The proposed scheme aims to develop the existing site, formerly containing buildings which have been demolished, with a new three-storey building which houses nine flats within.
"With its close proximity to Macclesfield town centre and its transportation links to Manchester, it is understood that this would be a very desirable location for residential use."
The applicant says the proposed development has been carefully designed to respond to the neighbouring properties on London Road.
The materials selected will be complementary to those of the historic fabric of the local area.
Nine new parking spaces for the residents are proposed as well as a designated bike storage area within the building at ground floor level.
The application, number 21/5122M, can be viewed on the Cheshire East website.
