A historic Macclesfield venue will have a party tonight to celebrate their new management.
The Bate Hall's relaunch will welcome the community with cask ales, live music and mini-entrées of their new food menu.
The Deputy Mayor of Macclesfield will also be attending, for the event that starts at 6pm this evening.
The new publicans of The Bate Hall are Susan Edwards and her partner Dale. The Bate Hall is the second Macclesfield pub they will take on.
Susan is known in Macclesfield for running The Plough Inn.
She runs another business on Chestergate directly opposite The Bate Hall called Mujer Boutique.
It was through running her women's close shop across the street that led to tempt her to take on the pub.
She told Macclesfield Nub News what to expect from her tenure at The Bate Hall.
"Having worked at the shop I would watch this pub and think 'I'd love to get my hands on that'," she said.
"It is a fabulous old building. As soon as I heard the existing landlord was leaving I sent an email, and it spiralled from there.
"The pub was built in 1525. It has a priest hole and a third floor which is blocked off to the public but is steeped in history.
"We would love to celebrate the history of the pub. It is almost 500-years old, so hopefully we will do something really special for that.
A tease of the new menu.
"We want to bring the feel of traditional pubs back, that is what I have been doing at The Plough and what we will be doing here too.
"We will introduce food being served seven days a week, and hopefully some live music. And you can get a taster of this at our launch party on Thursday evening."
Susan moved to Macclesfield eight years ago, and was previously running a bar in Spain.
She employs nine people across her trio of businesses, and her pub staff will have double the amount of potential shifts thanks to her taking on The Bate Hall as well as The Plough.
As a consequence of taking on The Bate Hall and adding a food offering, The Plough Inn will stop doing food this month.
The Plough be known for being a live sports and karaoke pub. Whereas the town centre venue of The Bate Hall will become the foodie and gigs pub, meaning that you could in theory visit both of her venues on a night out and have a different experience at both.
The Bate Hall has darts and pool, as well as a lush beer garden.
The pub is reported to be haunted.
"We want to be known for our traditional Sunday roasts", added Susan.
"We will be offering them for the first time at The Bate Hall this Sunday for the Treacle Market.
"We have always done it at The Plough, and the customers are very keen to move our traditional pub grub menu up here with me to The Bate Hall.
"We can't wait to welcome you to come and see what we've done. Those who know me and my husband, what we have achieved at The Plough Inn we will achieve here.
"We want to create an environment where everyone will be safe, and we can't wait to see you. And if you are free this Thursday at 6pm, please come on down for live music and new menu tasters."
The Bate Hall is open 11 to 11. Food will be served from 12pm to 6pm during the week, and at weekends 12pm to 5pm.
They are using Macclesfield produce such as Spearings meat and pies, with an emphasis on as much local produce as possible.
The pub relaunches at 6pm tonight. But if you can't make it, you can always book a table for another date via 01625 611342.
