Boris Johnson has today announced the next stage of ending lockdown.

Macclesfield's pubs, bars and restaurants now have permission to reopen from July 4th.

All pubs, bars and restaurants will have to adhere to strict social distancing measures, which means table service and contact details will have to be provided.

Boris Johnson has said the government will work with the hospitality sector to help "make this possible".

Many Macclesfield establishments have already announced reopening once the restrictions have been lifted.

Here is a full list of establishments that can reopen on July 4th (as long as they're following social distancing):

  • Hotels
  • Bars
  • Pubs
  • Places of Worship
  • Restaurants
  • Libraries
  • Community Centres
  • Cinemas
  • Theatres
  • Bingo Halls
  • Hairdressers
  • Theme Parks
  • Arcades ·
  • Recreation and entertainment venues

The government has also announced that two households can now meet regardless of size.
