Police have given more into on wanted man in Macclesfield.

As we first reported on at the end of last month, Cheshire Police want to speak to James McNally in connection with a theft and assault in Macclesfield.

The 36-year-old, who used to live in the Ash Grove area of Macc, is around six-foot tall, of slim build and has green eyes.

Writing on social media, Sgt Kerrie Snowdon gave more information about him.

She said: "Christmas is coming and there are still a couple of individuals we want to present to the Magistrates and see if we can get them their HMP Christmas Special for their dinner on Christmas Day.

"There is a running theme in some parts that going to prison is a bit easy and no punishment.

"The easy way to disprove that theory is to look at the efforts our friend Jimmy McNally is making to evade us.

"Jimmy is spending his time hiding and scuttling around town keeping his head down and it all looks like such hard work for him. It seems that Jimmy doesn't like going to prison.

"I can only assume the Christmas food option of a Turkey sandwich in a box because the kitchens are closed doesn't tick his boxes, or maybe his roommate is a bit scary.

"Anyway. If anyone sees Jimmy tell him our door is always open. If you see him call 101 or 999 to tell us where he is. You don't have to give your name and we will do our best to make sure he has a Merry Christmas."
