A new osteopath clinic has opened up in east Macclesfield.

Will Bosson has started up his own business called First Osteopathy, located inside Carla Gilder Fitness Studios on Parker Street in Macclesfield.

Self-employed Will only graduated as an osteopath in early August of this year, but has been treating people for four or five years with the goal "to become best osteopath in the country".

"An osteopath traditionally looks at the body more holistically" and tailors treatment on an individual basis," he said.

"If you're treating two people who are completely different the same way you're probably doing something wrong."

Based in Macclesfield, he attended school in Tytherington before setting off for Sheffield Hallam University, and then the University of Derby.

Having previously studied law, Will grew tired of working for large faceless companies and not seeing any difference.

Unlike many osteopaths, Will tries to be a functional osteopath, focusing on how patients use treatment and exercise so that they function and move better.

Will stresses that for long-term success, however, you must take an active role in your recovery.

Each session is mostly hands-on and at the end he will go through what the patient can be doing at home.

The clinic is conveniently located inside a gym so he can show exercises to try at home.

"There is nothing we don't treat in terms of physical issues," he added.

Other services offered include soft tissue and deep tissue massage.

He also offers a physical assessment, and recommendations on exercises and movements you can do at home.

According to Will, it is important to continue these exercises outside of the clinic as "if you are not doing it, then you are not going to get anywhere".

Will has followed in his dad's footsteps of being self-employed and enjoys the freedom and flexibility that comes with it.

Having lived in Macclesfield his whole life, Will knows the community well and feels good about making an impact in people's lives.

"Pain is not a life sentence," concluded Will.

And anyone suffering should contact Will.

First Osteopathy is based on Parker Street in Macclesfield but can also be found on Facebook and Instagram.

He is offering £25 off your first treatment, as an opening offer for the festive period.
