A youngster from Macclesfield has got the best grades possible in all of his GCSEs.

Macclesfield resident Jake B-S, has achieved eleven straight Grade 9's.

The teenager from Macclesfield attained a clean sweep of eleven grade 9s in his GCSE examinations on Thursday.

The attendee of the Manchester Grammar School was part of the school's top notch GCSE results.

Jake is a talented musician, having gained Distinctions in grade 8 Clarinet and Singing as well as being part of the National Youth Musical Theatre cast for three years and part of the National Youth Concert Band previously in 2021.

Jake will be studying French, Italian, Latin and Classical Civilisation for A-Level from September at his current place of education, and hopes to study Languages at university in the future.

40% of all grades were at the very highest grade 9 level and two-thirds of all grades achieved were 9 or 8. 104 MGS boys were awarded all 9, 8 and 7 grades.

These GCSE results follow another outstanding set of A-level results for Manchester Grammar School pupils last week, with 38% of all grades at A*, 73% at A* or A, and 87% at A*, A or B.

This level of performance puts MGS in a very select group of schools nationally.

Students from Macclesfield have been going to Manchester Grammar School for hudnreds of years. The independent day school for boys was established in 1515.

The School's High Master, Dr Martin Boulton, said, "We are very proud of this group of pupils having achieved such outstanding results. Our boys can now approach the next exciting stage of their academic careers with real confidence."

"I would like to thank our dedicated staff for the work they have done to support our pupils through their GCSEs."
