A Macclesfield band are to perform a homecoming gig in time for Christmas.

The Virginmarys, comprising Macclesfield residents Ally Dickaty and Danny Dolan, will perform at Cinemac this December.

"We've built momentum with lots of tribute acts on our stage since the pandemic, and it is great to support some local talent here."

The Virginmarys added "We're absolutely buzzing to announce our first hometown Xmas show in five years."

"We hope you all can come join us for one last party in 2022 in an absolutely amazing venue Cinemac Cinema! Massive thank you to Jordan for hosting us. We cannot wait for it."

Tickets go on sale at Friday November 25 from 9am. Buy them from The Virginmarys' website.

Jordan added: "We'd like a say a massive thank you to The Virginmarys for choosing to play here and for all the work that's gone into the planning of this! We'd also like to thank Macclesfield artist Marc makes comics for designing another amazing poster for us!"

The Virginmarys have over 51,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone. They released an EP earlier this year, with one music video being filmed in Macclesfield.
