Macclesfield's tip will be shut for two days in the first week of September.
This is according to Cheshire East Council, who run the site also known as the Danes Moss Recycling Centre.
In a statement, the council revealed the following:
"Macclesfield Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed on September 6 and 7 to allow for essential maintenance," said Cheshire East Council.
"Part of the site regularly suffers from pooling water and the temporary closure is needed so that engineers can carry out investigation works into the problem.
"Further works to provide a long-lasting solution will then take place at a later date.
"During the two-day closure, the alternative nearest sites for residents are in Bollington, off Albert Road, or in Alsager, off Hassall Road, for those traveling from further south in the borough.
"The council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure."
It shall re-open at 8:30am on Thursday September 8.
