A top gymnast has inspired kids to keep active at a school in Macclesfield.
Jaydon Paddock visited a Hurdsfield Primary School in Hurdsfield last week to inspire the next generation of sports stars and help to raise funds for new PE equipment for the school.
The World Champion gymnast was invited to launch 'Hurdsfield Sports Week' which had a focus on giving pupils a full week of experiences different sporting activities.
The 22-year-old - who has over 28,000 followers on Instagram - was invited to give a talk to Hurdsfield pupils of his achievements, resilience and training to be a medal-winning gymnast.
He then led a circuit of exercises to set them on their gymnastics journey.
The school had partnered with Sports for Champions, a community interest company, to launch the fund-raiser, with 60 per cent of the money going to the school and 40 per cent going to professional athletes in need of support.
After the successful event, the school raised over £1,400.
Joshua Howell, PE lead at the school, said: "We're really passionate about all children at Hurdsfield Primary School getting involved in sport.
"We were delighted to have an inspirational athlete that's worked really hard to achieve a success who our pupils can aspire to be like."
Jaydon, who travelled from Birmingham, added: "I always say to children I teach, it may not be gymnastics but try something. There is something for everyone."
Hurdsfield's Sports Week continued with representatives from JL Dance Academy, Macclesfield Boys' Boxing Club, Macclesfield Cricket Club, JLB Football Coaching, and Substation delivering different sport sessions for the pupils to enjoy before the week ended with the school's Sports Day events where families came to cheer on the aspiring athletes.
Richard Jervis, Headteacher at Hurdsfield Primary School said, "Events and activities are really important to have to enrich our school curriculum.
"We are grateful to have so many local sports representatives who are willing to share their expertise and what clubs are available for our pupils to enjoy in Macclesfield."
