Macclesfield Town will be welcoming lifelong supporter, Alan Boothby, to Moss Rose for one final time before he is laid to rest.

The club said Alan always has been and will always remain one of their and his dedication to the Club inspired so many.

Ahead of a private service at Macclesfield Crematorium, Alan will be leaving the Broken Cross area at 10:30am as he makes his poignant last trip to his spiritual home.

Alan will travel down Chester Road, before turning right onto Oxford Road. He will then progress down Congleton Road, turning left onto Moss Lane.

He will then take a right down Star Lane, before travelling along London Road and then taking a left back onto Moss Lane.

The club is inviting any supporters who wish to pay their respects to join them outside the McIlroy Suite at 10:30am tomorrow where they will applaud a true Silkmen stalwart.

Social distancing will be observed throughout and the people going to pay their respects are encouraged to wear club colours.
