A Macclesfield bar will celebrate their seventh anniversary this weekend.

Rumba, situated in a vibrant yellow building on Pickford Street, is a tiki lounge which serves colourful cocktails and Latino-influenced drinks.

Macclesfield Nub News met with Rumba Macclesfield General Manager Charli Baker, who is hosting the Rumba birthday bash this Saturday from 5pm.

"To celebrate our birthday, we're throwing a beach party on the Saturday to celebrate," said Charli.

The bar is known for serving a Birthday Cake Colada for people's birthdays, but all guests will be suited to order it this weekend, with it being the bar's birthday itself. It contains Two Swallows Spiced Rum, Licor 43, Baileys, vanilla, strawberry, milk and cream. (Image - Rumba Macclesfield)

"There will be cocktail specials, DJ, giveaways and a daiquiri making competition."

The person to make the best daiquiri will win a prize, and their cocktail will be put on as cocktail of the month.

Punters are encouraged to come in fancy dress, be it a Hawaiian shirt or something themed to a beach party.

There will be a prize for best dressed individual, and best-dressed group, which will be apparel or drinks from the rum brand ROCKSTAR.

They have a late night licence on the Saturday until 3am, so it is going to be quite the birthday party! (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"I love working here for the people", added Charli.

"We have some really great regulars, and you get to meet new people every weekend. We have a nice atmosphere and vibe.

"We have a student discount night on a Wednesday, alternative music night on a Thursday and an industry night on a Sunday."

The bar boasts over 80 bottles of rum, which could be the largest selection in Macclesfield.

Their anniversary is actually on the Sunday the day after, but so everyone can come down and celebrate they are hosting it on this Saturday (July 1) instead. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

Rumba opened in 2016, bringing a tropical and vibrant twist on the Macclesfield bar scene.

Before that, the building hosted bars such as Tonic and The Velvet Lounge.

The bar can seat 200, and employs ten people in the town.
