Macclesfield Town Council have announced two new jobs for Macclesfield's young people.

Our town's smallest form of local government, located in the Town Hall on Market Place, Macclesfield Town Council want two keen job-seekers to join their team.

Macclesfield Town Council is seeking a new Junior Ranger to work around the town.

They are also after an Administrative Assistant to work in their offices.

The vacancies are only open to 18-24 year olds, as they are roles created from the Government's Kickstart Job Scheme which sets the eligibility criteria.

Each role is for 25 hours per week, five hours per day, for a six month period.

The salary for both full-time roles is £16,778 per annum.

Applicants must be aged 18-24, currently on Universal Credit, and deemed at risk of long-term unemployment.

Experience is not necessary, however enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and work hard are key.

Both roles are active, and challenging roles, which will provide key work skills and confidence for two Macclesfield youngsters.

The Administrative Assistant role will involve learning about agendas and some accountancy practices and attending a variety of events.

There will be phone answering, data entry, and posting to the web.

The Junior Ranger role will help Rangers clean around the town, tend to plants, and conduct general tidying across Macclesfield.

It will involve outdoor working, and use of social media to celebrate the hard work the Rangers do.

Evening or weekend work may occasionally be required for both roles.

The Town Council is set to be one of the leading organisations in our town utilising the central government Kickstart Scheme, set up in the wake of job loss from the coronavirus pandemic.
