Macclesfield's first volunteer group to support Ukraine has passed a significant milestone.
Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid Collection Point have safely completed their 100th delivery since the war in Ukraine began.
Today marks 523 days since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid Collection Point was immediately established, packing up and sending away aid from an industrial warehouse on Gunco Lane.
Emily Knutton, Operations Assistant for the volunteer-powered organisation said: "We have just completed our 20th trip into Ukraine, which included our 100th vehicle."
"Since Russia attacked Ukraine in February of last year, we have been collecting critical and essential aid, as well as vehicles, that are also really needed and we've been getting requests for.
"After driving for four days, we deliver the aid straight into Ukraine. We support and supply several groups with aid. Including some in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
"All the aid is then dispatched and delivered between them. The vehicles are also donated. Not only do they help with delivering aid to further places but they help move and evacuate people.
"Over this last year-and-a-half, we have now sent over £2.5 Million in aid, from clothes, toiletries, food, solar powered items, power banks all the way up to vital hospital supplies and equipment.
"Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid are amazed and grateful at what we have managed to achieve and that, 17 months on, we are still able to provide so much help, aid and support.
"Without the consent kindness, support, and regular donations, whether that's with aid or through our JustGiving page, without the incredible people of Macclesfield none of this would be possible at all.
"We maybe from a small town but together we are mighty and helping 1000s of people. Macclesfield Ukrainian Aid would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people of Macclesfield."
It is not the only milestone the good cause has recently hit.
In April, the total value of the organisations goods donated passed the million-pound mark.
This figure is now at a whopping £2.5 million.
They have covered over 150,000 miles, with 70 volunteer drivers.
They have also supported other charitable organisations like medics4ukraine, the Ukrainian Freedom Company and cops4ukraine.
