The third single from a Macclesfield music artist founded in February has just dropped.

Dandelionjames, who takes his stage name from his real name Daniel James, has released Wait and See on Friday, August 20.

Ben Howard, Bon Iver and Tame Impala are influences for the Macclesfield music act.

The 29-year-old Maxonian spoke exclusively to Macclesfield Nub News about his new tune, who has played guitar for 15 years.

"Wait and See is about my ex telling me I will always be on my own, so I wrote a song about it," Dan said.

"But I'd prefer for other people to listen to the song and make their own mind up.

"My message to the people of Macc would be go listen to my music, and shut your eyes. It is proper dreamy music.

"A lot of people who listen say it is great for staring into space for ages and getting lost in it."

Wait and See is taken from a five-track EP titled Falmouth, inspired by his time living in the Cornish town.

Despite being born in Macclesfield, and growing up on the Moss Estate, Dan briefly moved to Cornwall, before moving back to Macc a few years ago.

While presented as a solo artist, Dan's musical project is made possible with a little help from his friends, in a similar vein to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Charlie Hadfield (31), also from Macclesfield, plays bass. Jim Sidney is their drummer.

"It feels like we're getting serious traction it is nice," Charlie added.

"I like the atmosphere we've got [with Dandelionjames] that we've got a tendency to build.

"Instead of doing a straightforward indie song, as long as we've got a personal vibe from it, we've done our job I suppose.

"Macc's got a great music and culture scene that has managed to build up over the years.

"And it is nice watching it turn from the place it was, to where it is. Macc is a bit more bohemian now."

The song was recorded at Macclesfield's The Big Red Studios, located at 18 Waterside.

The songs by the independent artist have been championed by BBC Music Introducing in Manchester and Stoke.

"What I love most about Macc is that it is very chilled out," Dan also said, whose voice reaches new heights on Wait and See.

"Nice people, and I moved back for my friends. There's also more music going on now."

Wait and See will be followed by a single every eight weeks until the EP's release, which will coincide with a run of gigs.

There will be Macclesfield shows confirmed later in the year.
