This Sunday August 22, women of our area will trek on a free wellness walk to a peak of Macclesfield Forest.

But before we tell you about our featured Event of the Week...

Don't forget Macclesfield - you can promote events for FREE on our What's On page.

This Sunday hike, which costs nothing, will begin at 9:30am meeting at Clough House Car Park near Wildboarclough.

Women's wellbeing walks organiser Path2Peaks are organising the 8.5 mile walk.

"We'll walk to Shuttlingsloe," the organisers said.

"Described as the Cheshire Matterhorn rising to 605m, it does bear a resemblance to famous one in Zermatt.

"Much of the walk is across the former royal hunting ground of the Macclesfield forest, sparsely populated with isolated farms and rolling hills, wild and open moorland and rushing streams."

Novices and experienced female walkers are welcome.

there is no capacity cap, but you can register your interest and see who you are meeting here.

There is also a separate all-gender guided walk of Macclesfield Forest to Tegg's Nose Country park going on this weekend.

This was also listed on the Macclesfield Nub News What's On section.
