Football fever has gripped Macclesfield and the country as England head to Wembley to face Denmark in the EURO 2020 semi-final.

In preparation of Wednesday's 8pm kick-off, you can enter the chance to win some limited edition merchandise from a classic Macclesfield band.

And the best part? It is signed by an England legend.

John Barnes, who was capped 79 times for England, has teamed up with the Macclesfield and Manchester band New Order to release a signed t-shirt.

The 57-year-old midfielder famously performed a rap verse on the 1990 song World in Motion, which was the only Number 1 single for New Order.

To win a signed John Barnes World in Motion t-shirt, all you have to do is follow the band on Spotify to be entered into the competition.

You can do this here.

In addition to the t-shirt, a signed John Barnes football is also up for grabs.

While other members of England's 1990 FIFA World Cup squad appeared on the track, Barnes was the only player to perform a solo, and the beloved John Barnes Rap has become etched into the wider public conscience.

New Order, whose current line-up comprises of three members from Macclesfield, are set to make a return to the charts this week following England's success at EURO 2020.

They currently sit at number 57 in the Official Chart Update, behind Vindaloo and Three Lions in the nation's favourite England national football team anthems.

New Order's keyboard and drummer couple Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris currently live in Rainow. Guitarist Phil Cunningham lived in Sutton as a lad.

After Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole, Barnes is the most-capped black player of all time for the Three Lions.

Interestingly, like England's current star player Raheem Sterling, Barnes was also born in Jamaica, before going onto represent England.

New Order last played a gig in Macclesfield at Jodrell Bank in 2019, for the most recent Bluedot Festival.

It is unknown when the winner of the signed football and t-shirt will be announced.

To enter the free competition, all you have to do is follow New Order on Spotify here.
