A police drugs raid at two houses in the Upton Priory area of Macclesfield yesterday morning has led to the seizure of cannabis and the arrest of one man.

Police told Nub News that they "executed two warrants simultaneously" at addresses in Eaglais Way at around 8am.

A police spokesperson said: "A quantity of cannabis was seized from one of the addresses and a 29-year-old man from Macclesfield was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the class B drug."

The man has since been released under investigation to allow further enquiries.

The Broken Cross and Upton Police Facebook page said that the raids came on the back of residents alerting them to issues with drugs in the area.

Anyone with information in relation to the supply of illegal drugs is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, give the details via the Cheshire Police website or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
