Man charged with five counts of assault following fight on Mill Street

An arrest has been made following a fight in Macclesfield.

Cheshire Police were called to reports of a fight involving three people on Mill Street.

Upon arriving at the scene at 3.22pm on Thursday, March 19, officers arrested a 35-year-old man.

He was taken to custody and later charged with criminal damage and five counts of assaulting a constable.

Police have named the suspect as Osian Hughes, of no fixed address.

He is understood to have appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, March 20.
