Man taken to hospital after being cut free from car following crash

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash.

Emergency services were called to the A34 Congleton Road near Chelford this morning (May 14) following reports of a crash.

Two Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service engines, one each from the Congleton and Macclesfield stations, arrived at the scene shortly after 7am.

A spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision involving one car with one person medically trapped.

"Crews removed the roof of the vehicle to get the casualty out and to the care of waiting paramedics.

"Police also attended and closed the road while the incident was dealt with."

North West Ambulance Service have confirmed that the man who was freed from the vehicle was subsequently taken to hospital.

Cheshire Police attended to assist with the road closure.

The scene was cleared by 9.23am.
