An annual pub quiz to raise money for the charities of the Mayor of Macclesfield will take place this October.

Cllr Fiona Wilson has two chosen charities for her stint as Mayor.

The Macclesfield South Town Councillor has decided to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance and Macclesfield Youth Brass Band.

Considering last year's Mayor managed to raise almost £15,000 for their two chosen charities, this upcoming event should raise lots of money.

The event will take place at the Pack Horse Bowling and Social Club on Thursday October 6.

Teams are encouraged to take part at the quiz held at the Abbey Road venue.

Pints will be plenty, but so will prizes, with many up for grabs.

It costs just £3 to enter, and Macclesfield Nub News will be entering.

Turn up for 7pm.

Prizes include one voucher worth £70 for The Button Warehouse Cafe Bar for one of their mezze boards, which serve four people, plus a bottle of wine

Another is a voucher with Matthew Rigby PT for 150 minutes of personal training at 5S Fitness in Hurdsfield.

Fiona's first charity for the year is Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, who formed in 2005, allowing people, including those with special needs to benefit from the power of music.

Her second Mayor Charity is North West air ambulance, who deliver pre-hospital care to the most critically ill. They are entirely donation funded, with no money from the government.

The event will conclude at 10pm.
