It was National Fitness Day on Wednesday, and Macclesfield gyms offered free personal training sessions and classes.
Local gyms to take part included the gym at Alderley Park, and Everybody Health and Leisure's gym at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
Macclesfield Nub News went down to Priory Lane to meet two personal trainers at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
The gym, located on the same floor as the café, is bright, welcoming and clean.
Hannah Dawson and Chris Jones are two of the friendly faces that work as personal trainers there.
"Like the name says, what we offer is for Everybody," said Hannah.
"We get a huge mix of people coming in. In the evenings, we get more people who want to lift weights after work. Throughout the day you get your older people.
"And downstairs we have a thing called a biocircuit as well which is great for beginners."
"I joined the team in January last year. I was a member before, I was a big swimmer so I trained here all the time, three years before I got the job.
"I like working here as everyone is really friendly. We all get along with each other, and all motivate each other."
Members can take advantage of the gym's newly-refurbished facilities, and a whopping 83 classes per week.
Classes include Zumba Gold, yoga and a high intensity training circuits class. The latter of which is a favourite of personal trainer Chris Jones.
"It is a class which you can get across the board, but the fact it takes place in the middle of the studio, it is a nice showcase of the personal trainers doing that, and because it is on the gym floor you get a lot of people around that are maybe a little more nervous about having done that sort of thing.
"It can help break down that barrier. They can approach about getting involved as well.
"A friendly community vibe was something I was looking for when I saw there was work here, and that is something we have.
"And that is not just with the staff, but the members as well.
"A lot of people that come in know each other's names, which is quite something considering there is close to 3000 members that we see through the doors.
"I've been working here since July 2022, been a personal trainer for ten years.
"I live locally, and had been a member here before I worked here.
"What also attracted me to work here because of the facilities we have. I really like the curved treadmills we've got."
There is a special offer at the gym at the moment, if you pay cash up front, to get 12 months for the price of 10.
Membership includes use of the swimming pool as well as the state-of-the-art gym.
Membership also includes free access to some more sporting facilities open to non-members, like badminton on the indoor courts for example.
If you have a corporate membership (which includes those who work for the NHS), you can have a discount too.
There is also a student discount as well.
